ESL have revealed the groups for ESL Challenger Melbourne 2022, the $100,000 event being hosted in Australia from September 2–4.
The eight-team tournament will be split into two groups of four, playing out in a double-elimination format for the group stage. The event will then transition into a single-elimination bracket for the playoffs.
OG will be headlining Group A, with the European combine coming into the event as the clear favourites as they sit at 15th in the world ranking. EG White will also be making an appearance in Group A, having secured their berth after a successful campaign through the North American closed qualifier back in July.
On the other side of the bracket, Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes will be making his debut for Imperial after being announced by the Brazilian organisation yesterday. ORDER and VERTEX will also be joining Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and company in Group B, with the home-town favourites hoping to make a splash in the event Down Under.
